The resort points out the risk of climbing with mountain skis inside the slopes open to the public, since the flow of skiers goes in the opposite direction. In the event of a crash, the ski mountaineer could be exposed to civil or criminal liability because it is he who would be responsible for the accident.
Likewise, the ascent or descent by closed tracks entails risks of collision with machines that prepare the tracks or snowmobiles and for this reason it is prohibited. Particular attention should be paid to machines equipped with winches whose cable is more than one kilometre long. The danger of colliding with these machines or the cables they use for their work can be deadly, as has been seen in accidents suffered by some people in neighboring countries.
In the event of an accident and if the help of the Track Service is required, lifeguards will try to help the injured, whenever it is possible to do so without abandoning their responsibility to maintain safety on the slopes. If the ski mountaineers are not clients of the resort, rescues will be charged according to the current rate. Mountain skiers are recommended to have insurance such as that offered by the Andalusian Mountaineering Federation.
Occasionally, it is possible to organize Mountain Ski activities for groups by coordinating their action program with the Slopes Service of the Station, through the Borreguiles Control Tower. In this way, the risks arising from the work of the machines can be avoided. In the night hours, you have to carry out the headlamp on, and make use of reflective accessories that make see and, above all, be seen.
Ski mountaineering is done under the sole responsibility of the one who practices it. Cetursa Sierra Nevada expressly declines any responsibility in a practice that is not covered by the acquisition of a pass for the use of the Station.
Cetursa Sierra Nevada may prohibit the use of the routes totally or partially, as well as change their route, depending on the operating conditions of the exploitation.
