Sierra Nevada launches the advance sales campaign for the winter season 2023/2024

Sierra Nevada has opened on Saturday, 30 November, snow activities for non-skiers in the Borreguiles area, which is accessed by the Al Ándalus gondola lift and the Borreguiles carpet, which will be operational during the usual winter timetable, from 09:00 to 16:45.
In Borreguiles, users can enjoy a snow area for sledges and doughnuts next to the Borreguiles carpet. The shop at the top station of the Al Ándalus gondola and the Central Grill restaurant in the Borreguiles building are also open to the public.
In Pradollano, the Mirlo Blanco activity complex is in operation with the Mirlo sledge, slides with sliding carpet with doughnuts, as in summer, and the ice rink from 6 December.
The Al Ándalus and Borreguiles rentals are open for ski storage and lockers.
The underground car park in the Plaza de Andalucía is free of charge until 5 December.
This offer of activities in Sierra Nevada will be maintained until further evaluation of the weather and snow conditions in the first days of next week.

Sierra Nevada opens the summer season with a concert by rock band Apache

A concert by the band Apache, in collaboration with the Granada Music and Dance Festival, opens this Saturday (21.30h in the Plaza de Andalucía, free) the summer programme in the ski and mountain resort, which will continue with mountain activities, electric bikes, sports, music and astro-tourism activities until 25 August.
&nbsp;The recital by the legendary cover band is already a classic at the start of summer in Sierra Nevada. Hours before the Apache start with their repertoire of the best pop rock of all time, the summer facilities and activities on the great mountain of Granada will already be up and running.
&nbsp;Two ski lifts (the Al-Andalus gondola lift and the Veleta chairlift) will take users from the 2,100 metres of Pradollano to 3,000 metres above sea level, from where some of the most attractive mountain trails in the Sierra Nevada, such as the route to the Veleta, Tajos de la Virgen, Elorrieta or Mulhacén and the excursions to the lagoons around the resort (Yeguas, Lagunillos de la Virgen or La Caldera) will start.
&nbsp;At the same time, the Mirlo Blanco activity park will open with facilities for children and families, the swimming pool at the Montebajo sports club and the guided routes on electric bicycles.

El programa de astronomía volverá a girar sobre las observaciones del amanecer y atardecer desde el Veleta, visitas al observatorio astronómico, excursiones para la observación de la luna o el cielo nocturno y las jornadas de observación de las Perseidas (9 y 10 de agosto) como fechas más destacadas.

La oferta cultural se completará con el festival de rock Sierra Nevada por Todo lo Alto, que volverá a ser el plato fuerte del programa musical (23 y 24 de agosto). El viernes 23 tendrá como cabeza de cartel al grupo Mujeres y también actuaran Alerta Cross y Berrinches. El sábado es el turno de Hins, Jornada B y Red Soul Community.
&nbsp;La festividad de la Virgen de las Nieves de Pradollano, del 2 al 5 de agosto con la tradicional romería a los Tajos de la Virgen la madrugada del 4 de&nbsp;agosto.
&nbsp;La Cicloturista al Veleta (cicloturismo) y el Subida Internacional Pico Veleta (ultrafondo) componen el programa deportivo del verano&nbsp;2024.
&nbsp;Durante el verano, un buen número de restaurantes y establecimientos de alojamiento garantizarán el disfrute estival de Sierra Nevada, donde el paisaje de alta montaña y las suaves temperaturas volverán a ser sus grandes atractivos.

Hinds and Mujeres, headliners of the Sierra Nevada Por Todo lo Alto Festival

The SIERRA NEVADA POR TODO LO ALTO Festival, the highest altitude musical event of the summer in Spain, has a full line-up for its 14th edition which, as always free of charge, will be held on 23rd and 24th August in the Plaza de Andalucía in Pradollano.
Three bands per night and a morning children's programme dedicated to the little ones make up the combination of rock, mountains and family for one of the most unique events on the national festival scene. 
The first of the most important names to come up to the mountain this year is one of the female rock bands that the organisers have had their eye on for years and that had been impossible to book due to scheduling: THE HINDS. In this 14th edition of the SIERRA NEVADA POR TODO LO ALTO Festival, the guitar rock of one of our most international bands will be playing at the top.
The other leading group is MUJERES. MUJERES is part of the emotional memory of several generations: of those who, like them, went back to striped T-shirts and old instruments. Once again they are back with new songs.
The Granadian festival, which is characterised as a family festival to be enjoyed in the middle of nature, cannot forget its musical workshops for children given by the music school Gabba Hey, which are held every year in morning sessions and divided by age. These workshops are usually sold out in minutes. Very soon we will be announcing the dates and instruments chosen for this year's workshops, remembering that places are limited. With the sponsorship of San Miguel beers, the SIERRA NEVADA POR TODO LO ALTO will once again be one of the most awaited festivals to say goodbye to the summer.

Sierra Nevada faces the last week of the season with 19 kilometres of skiable slopes

Sierra Nevada faces the last week of the winter season with 19 skiable kilometres concentrated in the Veleta and Borreguiles areas with the usual winter timetable (8.30am to 4.45pm). The snow, with thicknesses in the open areas ranging from 20 to 90 centimetres, is of spring quality. Until Sunday 28 April, the last day of the 2023/24 season, five ski lifts will be open (Al Ándalus gondola lift, Emile Allais and Veleta chairlifts, Dauro II carpet and Zayas chairlift) which will provide access to this ski offer, the only one of its kind in Southern Europe. The resort will also keep facilities open for non-skiers in Pradollano (Mirlo sledge) and Borreguiles (snow slides). Likewise, Sierra Nevada will offer very special prices on ski passes and access to the underground car park for this last week. On the other hand, the resort closed the season's sports calendar this weekend with the celebration of the Asogaf charity trophy (moguls) and the Fernando Rivera Memorial, in ski mountaineering. In addition, the riders of the national team continue in this last week with their post-season concentration with morning training sessions on the Cordón slope, in the Veleta area.

Sierra Nevada faces the first weekend of April with more than 90 skiable kilometres, with slopes in all areas of the resort, the entire operating vertical drop (1,200 metres), up to two and a half metres thick, and an extensive sports and music programme in what is one of the busiest and liveliest moments of the 2023/24 winter season.  After last weekend's snowfalls and strong winds, the resort's technical services have recovered the offer prior to the passage of the Nelson squall, which, in addition to bringing between 50 and 80 centimetres of new snow, hit some of the resort's ski lifts hard, generating blocks of ice on pulleys and rockers, and unhooking the cable of chairlifts such as Stadium, Monachil or Virgen de las Nieves.  All in all, the resort faces the spring season with great snow conditions. The Laguna and Borreguiles areas accumulate up to two and a half metres of powder snow, the same quality as in the Veleta area with almost two metres of snow on some pistes. The other three sectors of the resort, Loma Dílar, Río and Cauchiles-Parador accumulated between 75 and 130 centimetres of spring snow.

Intense sporting and musical agenda
As for the rest, the sporting and musical agenda this weekend is one of the most intense of the winter season.
The Sun and Snow festival kicks off this Friday with its fifth edition, the most ambitious electronic music event held at the highest altitude in southern Europe, with four stages distributed from Pradollano to Borreguiles, where - until Sunday - 36 musical sessions will take place.
The sports agenda includes five major events. The most popular will be the Ultra Sierra Nevada with more than 1,500 mountain runners registered in its four distances: Ultra, Trail, Marathon and Half Marathon. The main event, the 100 km Ultra, starts this Friday (22.00h) in Granada; the first runners will arrive at Pradollano, after reaching an altitude of 3,000 metres, at midday on Saturday.
Another of the big events will be the National Veterans Trophy, which will attract the best Spanish skiers in the Masters category to Sierra Nevada. This edition will be dedicated to the late former president of the FADI, Juan Luis Hernández, who was one of the driving forces behind this competition.
On the other hand, one of the best Spanish skiers of all time, Carolina Ruiz, will be at the head of theAudio Quattro Cup-Carolina Ruiz Challenge, considered one of the most important ski competitions for children on the national scene. 
The Andalusian University Alpine Skiing Championship and theTrofeo Ruralito - Copa Andalucía de Esquí Alpino complete the sports agenda for the first weekend of April.

With the slogan "Think cool", the Sierra Nevada ski and mountain resort is launching the pre-season ski season from Monday, 18 September, with the campaign for the advance sale of long-term and season ski passes with gradual discounts depending on the date of purchase. 
Thus, from 18 September to 17 October, discounts for season ski passes (individual or family) and 10 and 20-day passes will have a 20% discount; with the exception of the 15-day pass which, from when it goes on sale until 30 September, will have a special 30% discount. From 1 October, the 15-day long-stay pass will have a 20% discount like the rest of the products. 
In the second advance sales period, from 18 October to 2 November, the percentage discount on the same products will be 10 percent. Early purchase brings additional benefits to the user (such as night skiing, passes for the summer season or discounts on rentals, restaurants and parking) depending on the product and the period of purchase. 
Another important advantage in the purchase is the possibility of using next winter the days of the long-term ski passes purchased last season that could not be used, provided that for the 2023/2024 season one of equal or longer duration than the previous one is purchased. 
Also, this season, customers will be able to use their mobile phone as a ski pass, as the resort has implemented the "Mobile Pass" system. Sierra Nevada is a pioneer in the use of this system directly from its APP, in its more than 90 SKIDATA turnstiles, thus being a reference station in its commitment to digital transformation in its facilities. 
All users of the Sierra Nevada resort can download its APP, both on IOS and Android devices, and buy their ski passes through the same APP, or from the website and ATMs located throughout the resort. With SKIDATA's BLE technology, it will be loaded on the mobile phone and straight to the slopes. 
On the other hand, Sierra Nevada is working incessantly on the investments programmed for the new season, mainly in the renovation and implementation of new lifts (1 gondola and 2 ski lifts) and the installation of new snow cannons.
