The Day Visit to the Sierra Nevada Observatory is a guided experience that allows you to approach the world of astronomy and scientific research from one of the most privileged environments in southern Europe. Located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada National Park, this observatory, dependent on the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (CSIC), is located in a high mountain area especially valued for the development of astronomical studies.

During the visit, participants will be able to access the interior of the observatory, learn about its facilities and discover the operation of its scientific equipment. The experience includes a visit to the main telescopes of 1.5 m and 0.9 m aperture, as well as to the main control room, where the scientific projects that are being developed and the use of the instruments are explained.

The tour begins in Pradollano, with a meeting point in the Plaza de Andalucía (in front of the CAU). From there, you can access by cable car to Borreguiles and then by chairlift to the 3,000 metres level, from where you continue on foot to the observatory, passing through the surroundings of the Laguna de las Yeguas.

After the visit, the group returns to Borreguiles to take the cable car back to Pradollano.
